Dozens of teens and students participated in the first Student Blitz on Saturday, April 16th. Agents of Grace sponsored the event, which provided youth with an opportunity to serve at the Welfare Reform Liaison Project and Grimsley High School. Student volunteers at the Welfare Reform Liaison warehouse performed a variety of tasks, including taking inventory, sorting, and packaging various items.
The Welfare Reform’s Manager of Distribution Systems, Earlene Thomas said, “We really appreciate the Agents of Grace. The work the students are able to finish within few hours would have taken our staff weeks to complete.”
Grimsley principal, Rob Gasparello, kept his young volunteers busy painting the stadium and sprucing up the school grounds.
Afterwards, all of the volunteers gathered for lunch in Grimsley’s cafeteria. The event ended in the school’s auditorium where young members of Grace Community Church shared why they regularly volunteered to help others and the impact volunteering has had on their lives.

Mission Greensboro - 2004
We would like to thank each person for the work that was done on Saturday, August 14th, throughout the city of Greensboro. We had over 1,900 volunteers, from 35 local places of worship, which crossed racial, denominational, economic, and social lines for one cause. The City of Greensboro was impacted in a mighty way, but more importantly people's lives were impacted in an eternal way that day. It was truly a blessing to see what can be accomplished when we lay aside our perceived differences, and come together with one goal in mind, transformation.
We want you to know that the work has just begun! Here is just a glimpse into both our future direction, and upcoming local events:
Seasons of Service - Starting in January of 2005, AOG will implement a quarterly day of service, with each day coinciding with the particular season (i.e. raking leaves in fall, etc.).
Youth Blitz/Souper Bowl of Serving - On February 5, 2005, we will have area youth groups serve soup kitchens, schools and nonprofit organizations. Then on February 6, those same youth will collect money from their congregations, and donate the amount to local non profits.
We need your help in accomplishing all of this. We need your willingness to volunteer, as we desire each and every one of you to be involved with Agents of Grace on a year round basis. We also want to extend an invitation to any of you who may feel called to serve as part of a planning team with Agents of Grace.
Lastly, we would ask you to prayerfully consider what role you may have in helping Agents of Grace become a fully funded nonprofit organization, with full time staff. Please contact us at (336) 378-0307 for further information regarding becoming a full time sponsor for Agents of Grace. Also, we encourage you to remind your church leadership of what we are doing.
Again, from all of us, and from all of those who were served on August 14th, we say thanks. Truly, without you, none of this would have been possible. God bless, and we hope to hear from each of you very soon.
Mission Greensboro - 2003
The Agents of Grace 2003 Event was a tremendous success.
As a group we gave 9,102 hours of service to Greensboro.
The value of the volunteer time, according to the "Value
of Volunteer Time" 2002 labor statistics (www.independentsector.org)
would equate to $145,552.00. WOW!
