Agents of Grace
After prayerful consideration, the Agents of Grace board has decided not to hold an August 2010 Day of Service. This decision is made so that the board might focus on a period of biblical rest and reflection. The Nation of Israel was commanded in Leviticus that in the seventh year the land is to have a sabbath of rest, a sabbath to the LORD. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards. Entering our ninth year - we are two years overdue!
The past eight years have been a remarkable experience for the members of the board. We have seen 13,400 volunteers from more than 70 churches contribute 60,000 hours of service to over 70 community agencies and schools. Having seen God at work through you makes us both humbled and energized.
At the end of these eight years, Agents of Grace is in a healthy position, both in terms of community connections and finances. This time of "revisioning" is intended to discern God's direction in connecting local churches overcoming traditional barriers to impact our community. We eagerly anticipate how we might continue to be agents of His grace.
As we take a break from the day of service - we encourage you to continue to seek out the numerous opportunities to serve community agencies and schools.
And to you - a huge thanks for your past participation and contributions - what a blessing it is to see Christ in you.
